Dennis Freedman is a freelance cricket journalist from Australia who travelled to Pakistan in 2017 after the country’s win in the Champion’s Trophy final that year. As part of his trip, he wanted to explore the link between cricket and Pakistan while also trying to evaluate the country’s negative image in Western media.
During his visit, he met Pakistani cricket legends such as Imran Khan, Zaheer Abbas, Sikandar Bakht, Moin Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq. In addition, he interacted with members of local public and met with Pakistani cricket super fans to understand their passion for the sport while also taking in the local culture and cuisine.
The complete documentary from his trip to Pakistan, which has been produced in cooperation with Cricingif and Pakistan Cables, is now online on YouTube. It is a must watch for any cricket fan who wants to understand Pakistan’s complex relationship with cricket and who also want to dispel any negative impressions of the country.
